Franklin Graham has shared the Bible’s message of forgiveness with over 17,000 people in London, as part of his ‘God Loves You’ tour.
Exceeding the ExCel Centre’s capacity of 15,000, two thousand people who were unable to enter the packed venue remained to sing and worship outside. Over 550 churches participated, more than double London’s previous event in 2023.
Hundreds of attendees were given Bibles, while translators made the gospel message available in languages such as Cantonese and British Sign Language.
‘Hope for the hopeless’
Graham said: “Many people feel hopeless, and they’re asking is the world running out of time? Many of you who have come tonight feel hopeless. You begin to wonder if the world will fall apart.
“You can come to the One who can turn that around, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ — God’s Son.
“The Bible says that God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Victory
Last year, the evangelist shared the Gospel with over 7,500 people at a Glasgow venue which had previously prevented him from holding an evangelistic rally.
OVO Hydro, operated by Scottish Event Campus Ltd, was among five venues that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) took legal action against in 2020, after its gospel events were cancelled because of Franklin Graham’s mainstream Christian beliefs on marriage and sexuality.
But the BGEA obtained favourable results in each lawsuit, and was awarded £97,325.32 in damages over the axed Glasgow event.
